Bells on Bottoms

I love the look and the pattern though I did find it somewhat difficult to follow. The pieces so tiny like the belt loops. But overall its a great pattern and I purchased it as wanted matching bottoms to go with my granddaughters Bell Bottom pants to match. It worked perfect.

Sunshine 'n Daisies Bell Bottoms

I was so excited when I saw this pattern. In the 1960's to 1970's, we had bell bottoms. We made them wider with the fabric inserts in the side seams, just like these. We had daisies - if they weren't on the fabric, we added them, with appliqué, paint or embroidery - just like these. I can't crochet, so I made my own daisy top to go with these. Outfit inspired by Skipper's (Barbie's little sister) outfit, "Rolla Scoot", from 1967. Love the fit and shape of these bell bottoms!

Sunshine N Daisies

These hip huggern jeans are such a well drafted and well written pattern that you will not be disappointed. The jeans fit both my dolls very well and although they take a bit of care in the sewing it is well worth your efforts. The pattern includes the instructions for the appliques on the cover page but I took the opportunity to play with my new embroidery/sewing combo machine. I also made the crocheted halter top that is sold as a separate pattern.

Fab Bells

It was delightful to add this new pair of bells to the dolls’ 70s wardrobe collection. The pattern has all the tiny jeans details you could ask for in miniature. Step by step instructions & great photos help you achieve success with intermediate fabric & design. I recommend using light weight jeans skirt or shirt fabric. My fabric was all found thrifting or upcycling things from my closet.

Sunshine ‘n Daisies Bell Bottoms

I’m a sucker for anything denim, and these bell bottoms are the cutest ever! I love the hippie vibe of the appliqués … I didn’t have any large floral fabric to cut them from, so I used a heart shape I already had. Beyond being just plain cute, these are one of the best fitting jeans patterns I’ve tried … they’re a slim - but not tight - fit in the upper legs, and the wide bells make them easy to put over her feet. While other patterns have left me fiddling for a good fit through her backside, these were perfect as they were. Instructions were well written and easy to follow … the details in a pair of jeans mean you need to be a little patient and not get in a hurry, but the end result is worth it. I upcycled a pair of jeans for these because I wanted the lighter color, but you’ll have best results (and less frustration!) using a thinner weight denim. (I find women’s denim skirts to be perfect upcycle choices, as they’re usually lighter weight and have lots of fabric!) This is definitely a pattern I’ll use again.
