Merry Go Round Party Dress 18" Doll Clothes Pattern

This cute party dress is the perfect choice for making a dress in homage to her favorite princess. Just create it in the "princess's iconic colors and all those around will get the idea.

This lovely sleeveless party dress with a basque front has a faux button tab in the 
front. The dress is finished with three layers of ruffles. The top ruffle is in the 
shape of two panniers for a princess yet modern look. 

The dress closes with hook-and-loop in the back. 
 
Designed for light to medium weight woven cotton or light weight denim. 
 
This PDF sewing pattern is designed to fit 18 inch dolls such as American Girl®

Recommended Fabrics: Light to Medium weight woven fabric. Light weight denim. Cotton, Quilting Cotton, Linen, Sheeting and similar.

Supplies Needed:

  •  Fabric — 20" x 35"

  •  Lining—6.5" x 15”

  •  3.25” Hook-and-Loop tape

  •  Five 1/4” Wide Buttons

  •  Matching thread

Skill Level:  Intermediate

Merry Go Round Dress

I love this new pattern from Doll Tag Clothing! It has a lot of special, unique details … the front button tab, the top stitching, and those ruffles! These aren’t just ordinary straight ruffles … each layer is carefully thought out and unique. I chose a very lightweight cotton, which helps make those ruffles soft. As always with this designer, the instructions are very well written and easy to follow, and the fit was perfect on my modern AG dolls. Definitely a dress pattern you’ll want to add to your collection!

Merry-Go-Round Party Dress

This is an awesome pattern! I love how it goes together. The only hard part was the point on the bodice, but going slow and careful you can do it! I usually don't make up a pattern more than once, but I made Merry-Go-Round Party Dress three times! A great pattern!

Very sweet design

This is such a cute design. The instructions were easy to follow and the dress fit well. My grand daughter will love it!

Cute design, but fit too small.

This is a cute design, went together well, with very clear instructions. My only problem was the bodice was too small for either of the 2 American Girl dolls I own. I know these dolls vary in measurements, so I would just caution that it would be good to carefully measure your doll and the pattern pieces before cutting.
