Quick to make and suitable for beginner sewists; the slightly flared skirt has an elasticized waist, a top-stitched Over-Skirt with a trendy Side Split and 3-button trim. This easy pattern is designed to fit 18” soft-bodied dolls such as American Girl®.
This pattern coordinates perfectly with the Highland Jacket Knitting Pattern.
Doll Model Size: The AG Doll I use to model my patterns is Julie who has a fuller body. Her measurements for comparison are: Chest - 11 ¼”; Waist - 11”; Hip - 12 ½”; Head Circumference - 12”
Suggested Fabrics: Woven cotton fabric. Denim and Plaid Fabrics were used for the Highland skirts and Medium Weight Cotton and Cotton Twill for the floral skirt.
Supplies Needed:Fabric Requirements:
-Underskirt: Plaid, or Fabric of Choice – 8” x 20”
-Over Skirt: Medium Weight Denim or Fabric of Choice – 11” x 12”
Notions:
-Elastic for Waistband: 1/4” wide x 11”
-Buttons for Skirt Front: 1/4” wide x 3
-Matching Thread, Contrasting Thread, Marking Pen, 2 Safety Pins or Bodkin, -Clear Tape, general sewing supplies.
-A ‘Universal Sewing Needle – 80/12’, a General Purpose Foot and a ¼” Foot are used during the sewing process.
