This easy level pdf pattern has step by step instructions to personalize a tote just for you.
Recommended Fabrics: Light to medium weight cotton wovens, denim or twill
Supplies Needed:
Basic Tote Bag:
-2 Coordinating fabrics, 1/4 yard each or 2 Fat Quarters- Woven fabrics light-medium weight
-Thread
-Needle for hand sewing
-2 Jelly Bracelets (flexible, plastic, about 2 1/2" - 3" in diameter)
Tote Bag with Pocket:
In addition to basic tote supplies add:
-Mesh or coordinating fabric: 12 inches x 4 1/2 inches
-Ribbon trim: 3/8 or 5/8 inches wide, about 15 inches
Or
Coordinating fabric trim: 1 5/8 inches x 7 1/2 inches (can be cut on the bias to create a unique pattern)
Charm Accents:
-Ribbon: 3/8 inches x 1 3/8 inches
-1 "D" ring: 10 mm or size to fit your ribbon
-Charm or dangle earring
-Lobster claw and/or jump ring used to attach
An extra note: The jelly bracelets used for the handles are plastic and flexible. They come in bright color bundles at trendy jewelry stores in the mall, in many party stores, craft stores, children’s departments or in Walmart’s main jewelry department. You can find them online at Oriental Trading, Ebay and Amazon with great deals. You might need to purchase more than one bundle to get 2 matching colors, or try mixing for a fun mismatched look.
