Help your doll to beat the heat with the Warm Weather Rompers pattern by Forever 18 Inches! A fusion of vintage and contemporary design elements, the pattern features wide-cut bottoms with options for angled ruffles, bloomer-style pants, or plain pants. Bodice options include a fully lined faux button front or princess-seamed front, and a back closure with adjustable shoulder ties. Two sets of cutting lines are included on the bodice pieces to provide an optimal fit. Best of all, the bodice and pants options are interchangeable so you can create your own customized rompers!
This PDF pattern is designed to fit 18-inch dolls such as American Girl®.
Recommended Fabrics: All options: Lightweight denim, poplin, chambray, Kona® cotton, medium weight quilter’s cotton, or other natural fabrics; 1/6 yd. of lightweight lining fabric such as batiste or lawn
Supplies Needed:
- Option 1: 2/3 yd. of 45" wide fabric
- Option 2: ½ yd. of 45" wide fabric
- Option 3: ½ yd. of 45" wide fabric
All Options: 1/6 yd. of lightweight fabric (or equivalent scrap size) for the Lining, such as batiste or lawn
All Options:
1. Matching thread and optional contrast thread
2. Optional: very lightweight fusible interfacing for bodice pieces cut on the bias or cross grain
3. Two-three medium-sized snaps OR 3" of Hook-and-Loop
4. Fray Check®
5. Optional: a Frixion® pen for marking dots and cutting lines
6. Optional: a hemostat for turning the Tie Belt to the RIGHT side
For Options 1 and 2 Add: Five ¼” buttons
For Option 2 Add: Two 6" long pieces of ¼" elastic (1/3 yd. of ¼" elastic)
