Looking for a quick and easy scarf and hat to knit? This pattern is one of the quickest and very easy ways of knitting beanies or scarves by using drop stitches. Both beanies knit flat from bottom upwards with a back seam.
Set A: Draw string type of beanie with a five row pattern
Set B: This beautiful two tone set has a closed top beanie and the pattern is a six row repeat.
Both scarves are 19'' long with a width of 2 1/2". The scarf is designed so that it can serve as a stole as well. A narrower scarf can be created by casting on 3 or 4 stitches less, if desired.
Stitches used: knit, purl, YOX2, YO and knit 2 together.

Recommended Yarn: Any Light DK (Double knit ) / Weight 3 yarn or even a Sports weight that will give you the appropriate gauge.
Used in examples: For Beanie and scarf A: Stylecraft Special DK - Colorway 1132 Shrimp. For Beanie and scarf B: Paintbox DK - Colorway 123 Mustard Yellow as MC - Colorway 107 Vanilla Cream as CC.

For Beanie and Scarf A:
- Light DK yarn = 32 grams (94.1 meters / 102.9 yards)
For Beanie and Scarf B:
- Light DK yarn = 20 grams (55.2 meters / 60.4 yards) MC
- Light DK yarn = 15 grams (41.4 meters / 45.3 yards) CC
Other supplies:
- Straight or circular knitting needles sizes US 5 (3.75 mm).
- DPNS size US 4 (3.50 mm) x 2 if you are knitting an I cord.
- Row counter or a pencil to tick of the rows as you knit.
- Tapestry + ordinary sewing needle.
- Small scissors.
- Ruler or tape measure.
