The Ingrid Skirt is a funky modern style skirt with real twirl factor that is perfect for your 18 inch doll.
The basic underskirt is A-Line in shape with a hip yoke and elasticated waist that gives additional scope for mixing and matching fabrics as well as reducing bulk at the hip and waistline.
The Ingrid Skirt pattern has four main options, but if you mix and match the options and hem finishes suggested in the pattern then the possibilities are endless.
View A is the yoked underskirt on its own, and can be made with or without ruffles along the hem. Instructions are given for a bound hem finish or ruffles.
View B has a gored overskirt that can be trimmed with ruffles, rick rack trim or lace. The seams of the overskirt can also be gathered to create a pick-up effect.
View C has a ruffled bustle underskirt with an apron style overskirt.
View D has a plain underskirt with a slightly longer ruffle edged apron style overskirt.
The pattern includes instructions and suggestions for a variety of hem or trim finishes to give you even more options and as a bonus, instructions are also included for the fabric flower shown on View A on the cover.

Recommended Fabrics: Woven fabrics e.g. cotton blend dress fabrics, poplin, lawn, broadcloth, chambray, quilters' cotton or lightweight cotton blends
Supplies Needed:
-A quarter of a yard of fabric for the underskirt
-A quarter of a yard of fabric for the overskirt
-An eighth of a yard of fabric for the yoke or you can cut this from the overskirt fabric
-Strips of toning or contrasting cotton or polycotton fabrics for any ruffles you wish to add. Some strips will need to be joined to make the correct length
-9 inches of ⅜ inch wide (8 cord) flat elastic for the skirt waist
-Purchased or home-made bias binding tape or other trims e.g. rick rack, lace or ribbon (optional) for the different hem finishes
-One or two buttons for the center of the optional button flower
