This is an excellent pattern with great results. I enjoyed making the gloves and feather headpiece. I didn't attempt the beading. I was making for a Journey girl doll which are slimmer than American Girl so I had to adjust the back pieces to meet and close with hook and eye rather than overlapping as most backs do. The lace detail at the back of the dress is beautiful but you need to take care to make it symmetrical.

Wonderful Pattern

I've now made 3 dresses with this pattern, and each one has been unique and beautiful. This pattern is easy to follow with very clear instructions. You can easily customize this dress, or you can keep it simple and modern if you wish. The gloves were a nice bonus as I can use those with other patterns. The hair clip instructions were also very clear.

Loved it! Made This for my grand daughter after an interest in the period of Downton Abbey. If you follow the pattern step by step there will be no issues. It just falls into place made the other one Miss Lilly's tea gown also. I had no issues and they fit the doll wonderful. Love these patterns.

Lady Lilly -What Fun !

I enjoyed making Lady Lilly's afternoon tea dress...Her Winter Evening dress went together even better! The feather hair pieces were so cute I ended up making 6 at the first try. I found a feather piece where the feathers were glued to felt, so I started with a small scrap to start with and glued some of the feathers together with a strong bead and craft glue. Worked wonderfully, just keep the felt small enough so it won't be seen. 4 Pair of evening gloves and a bag ( my fiddling around, pattern not included) rounded out the accessories. I have a dress that looks like the picture on the pattern, a silver sequin gown, and a turquoise crepe gown. These were completed in one day. I sew quickly, so it may take longer for you but trim makes all the difference. I didn't do the beading. My hands are not steady enough. Thank you for the fun pattern. I would love to see more of Lady Lilly. More historical patterns please for us Grandmas who love their dollies!
