“Shanghai Jacket”, by Karen Lorraine Design, consists of a mandarin-collared, unlined jacket that offers the seamstress a great opportunity to showcase whatever woven cotton fashion print takes your fancy.
Primarily designed for the Pullip™ (Type 4 body) doll size, this pattern will also fit other similar dolls such as Monster High™ adult (29cm height), Ever After High™ tall (28cm height), Disney Descendants™, and Dal/Byul™ as it is, or by slight adjustments to the hook and loop tape back (or hems).
Recommended Fabrics: Woven cottons, like quilting cotton.
Supplies Needed:
• 16" (width/horizontal) x 8" (deep), non-stretch, woven cotton like quilting cotton or a light brocade. Note: you will need more fabric if you are “showcasing” aspects of the fashion fabric (like pictures on the fabric). If you are doing this, make sure the pattern repeats. I don’t recommend fat quarters for this, as they don’t always “repeat” within the small amount of fabric.
• Buttons for jacket (optional)
• Matching or contrasting thread
• Hook and loop tape, snap fasteners, or hook and eye closures.
