Paper Roses Dress and Petticoat Pattern for Maru and Friends Dolls

Paper Roses is a feminine ruffly dress for your 20" Maru® and Friends doll. It has a close-fitting, scoop neck bodice which is closed in the back with snaps hiding underneath buttons. The full ruffled skirt begins above the waist with a hemline just below the knees. There are four tiers of ruffles and short puffed sleeves. The look can be changed by using different belt styles and fabric choices. The pattern includes a fabric belt.

Also included is a petticoat pattern designed especially for the Paper Roses dress. It has two layers of ribbon trimmed tulle. Each layer has four tiers. At the waist is a simple elastic casing.

Recommended Fabrics: Lightweight cotton or cotton blend

Supplies Needed:

• For the Dress
• 1/3 yard fabric for the bodice, bodice lining, skirt
• 1/4 yard contrasting fabric for ruffle #1, sleeves, belt
• 1/8 yard contrasting fabric for ruffle #2
• 1/8 yard contrasting fabric for ruffle #3
• 1/8 yard fabric lace for ruffle #4
• matching thread
• 8" of 1/4" elastic, cut in half
• 45" lace trim - 1/2" - 1" wide
• 2 small snaps
• 2 small buttons
• For the Petticoat
• 3/4 yard of 60" wide tulle for the ruffles
• 15" x 5" piece of silky or lining type fabric for the yoke
• 3 1/3 yards of 1/4" ribbon for the bottom edge
• 5 feet of 1/4" colored ribbon for trim - optional
• thread
• 9 1/2" of 3/8" elastic
