Imagine for a second you are at the circus and out comes a beautifully dressed lady. She steps behind a curtain, and in the blink of an eye steps back out with a new dress on! But how does she do it? Is it magic? Or maybe just a cleverly crafted dress made just for her?! Now you can turn your doll into a Quick Change Artist as well! The Quick Change Artist by Love From Lola consist of two looks: a Before Dress and an After Dress. The Before Dress is a playful sleeveless mini bubble dress with several small pleats along the neckline. It is designed to conceal the After Dress – simply undo a few snaps to release this dramatic V-neck gown with its slightly dropped waist and flowing handkerchief hem. This dress is designed to be folded up and hidden inside the Before Dress -- and later to conceal the Before Dress beneath its skirt. The tutorial walks you through the steps to make these magical changes happen. It also includes instructions on how to make the lovely After Dress on its own.

This pattern is designed to fit 18" dolls such as American Girl®.
Recommended Fabrics: A fabric with a bit of drape to it such as rayon blends, polyester blends, satins or silk. A lightweight woven cotton fabric is recommended for the lining fabrics.
Supplies Needed:
Before Dress
- 1/3 yard fabric
- ¼ yard lining fabric
- 10 small sew on snaps (size 1.0 or 2.0)
- 10 inches ¼ inch wide twill tape or ribbon
- 13 inches ¼ inch ribbon or trim (Optional)
- 10 x 10 inch piece of knit interfacing (Optional)
After Dress
- ½ yard fabric
- ½ yard mesh
- ¼ yard lining fabric
- 3 inches hook and loop tape
- 13 inches ¼ to ½ inch wide trim (Optional)
