The Liberty Jane Capri Pants Doll Clothes Pattern featured in the Liberty Jane Spring 2012 International Collection is now available! A fresh look for spring or summer, these capris are designed to fit an 18 inch American Girl ® Doll! This design is easy to sew because of the clearly illustrated step by step instructions! Your doll will look like she’s shopped at Hollister or Delias! PDF pattern includes 3 styles - Capris with a center back leg seam, knee-length Bermuda shorts, and short shorts. All styles have a front fly with elastic at the back of the waist, cute front welt pockets and belt loop detail complete the look.

The welt pockets are a darling design feature but may have you questioning if this pattern may be too difficult. Don't worry! The instructions have clearly illustrated pictures, but if you need a helping hand we have a great step by step video showing exactly how to sew the welt pocket! Supplies Needed:
-1/4 yard of woven cotton fabric (a fat quarter works great!)
-Hook and loop tape and thread

-Elastic
-Grosgrain ribbon  

Skill Level: Intermediate.

New favorite

This pattern is a new favorite with the working front fly, and stylish leg slits in the back. I also mastered the welt pockets with the easy directions. The sizing is excellent, and this is a great pattern for those of us who prefer a fitted look for pants.

Cute shorts

Yhe shorts were fairly simple to make. but the back elastic doesn't seem to be snug enough to pull them in. I think I will use 3/8 inch wide elastic rather than 1/4 inch) next time and be sure it was short enough before sewing up the waistband.

Nicest shorts ever!

I used this pattern to make some shorts and I found that they are the cutest ever! The pattern is a bit tricky but after making about six pairs of these, I'm getting the hang of them. Next I am going to make the capris. Since I am making a lot of them for a Christmas project, I have been forgoing the welt pocket for now. I will definitely make these again in the future though, and the pocket is on my techniques to try list!

Capris and Shorts 18 inch doll

The pants patterns was great. I have a different method for doing the pocketing but overall the pants fit great on the doll which was Lea and she is a bit chubbier than some other AG dolls.
