Knit a classy Cardigan and Skirt Set with eye-catching stripes for your doll using a row of drop stitches and contrast yarn. The pattern stitch using seed and drop stitches really gives the set that unique look. You can use bigger needles or the same needle size to knit the drop stitch rows.
The cardigan is knit flat from the hem upwards with a front buttoned closure. The sleeves are knitted separately and are joined at the bodice. Use your dpns or circular needles when joining the sleeves to the rest of body.
Both the Skirt and the Bonus Messy Bun Beanie are knit flat using the same pattern stitch as the cardigan with a back seam.
This Cardigan is also available without the matching skirt in the Wintertime Cardigan pattern. Both patterns include the Bonus Messy Bun Beanie.
Stitches used: knit, purl, YO, YOX2, skp and knit 2 together.
GAUGE: Stockinette Stitch, US 4 (3.50 mm) needles, 13 sts & 18 rows = 2’’ (5 cm)

Recommended Yarn: Any Light DK (Double knit) / Weight 3 yarn or even a Sports weight that will give you the appropriate gauge.
Pattern Example yarn used: Stylecraft ® Special DK = 40 grams (117.6 meters / 128.6 yards). Colorway 1069 turquoise as MC. Paintbox Simply DK = 16 grams (44.2 meters / 48.3 yards). Colorway 107 Vanilla Cream as CC.
Pattern tester yarn used: Lion Brand® Baby Soft.

- Straight or circular knitting needles sizes US 4 + 5 (3.50 mm + 3.75 mm).
- DPNS size US 4 (3.50 mm) x 2 to help with the extra stitches when joining the sleeves.
- Buttons x 5
- Row counter or a pencil to tick off the rows as you knit.
- Tapestry + ordinary sewing needle.
- Small scissors.
- Ruler or tape measure.
