Flossie Potter's "1950s Swimsuit and Retro Swim Cap" bundled set includes two full patterns bundled together! Create a darling fifties style swim outfit for her next pool party!
The 1950's swimsuit is designed with panels of striped fabric that connect at various angles. (It can also be made without stripes, using varied colors or prints.)
Typical of that era, the suit has an under-piece with a second modesty front that flares slightly at the bottom, resembling a short dress. Its contrasting top portion is gathered in the center to give the impression of a "bow" with halter-style spaghetti straps that tie behind the neck. The legs are elasticized, and the back closes with elastic across the back waist, making the swimsuit easy to put on and take off.
The Retro Swim Cap adds that 1950's flair to complete the look! Bathing beauties of the 1950s showed off their colored swim caps that were often decorated with flowers and other abstract shapes. The pattern includes two sizes: Short Hair and Long Hair. The caps close with a strap under the chin. The pattern also contains traceable flowers for optional decoration.
