What little girl wouldn’t love Marina, the Mermaid Princess? She is 16” tall when stitched out and is easily made in the 6x10 hoop of your embroidery machine.
All body parts are stitched and embroidered in the hoop, but side seams will be stitched together on the sewing machine.
Marina is firmly stuffed with polyester stuffing, and all parts of her, including her crown and tutu, are washable when made as instructed below.
Marina’s upper body is made of polyester craft felt or medium weight cotton, and her tail can be made or glittery performance knit fabrics, specialty fabrics such as mermaid prints, or fancy fabrics, but avoid those that aren’t washable or that ravel. (I generally use performance knits because they are shiny and stretchy, and also try to get these on sale or in remnants. I’ve also used printed felt, sequined fabric, and others, but prefer the knits.)
No need to worry about centering Marina’s face, as it is already done for you and stitched out with her hair in one hooping.
Her bikini top can be your choice of fabrics, but I prefer to make it match either her hair or her tail, for convenience.
Marina can be as glittery as you desire to make her, and has an optional free-standing lace crown and tutu, which can also be embellished.

• 2 sheets of polyester craft felt in hair color
• ¼ yd. (or less, depending on nap or direction of print) sparkly fabric for mermaid tail
• 27” of tulle from a 6” spool
