This simple, yet elegant, Edwardian Girl's Hat, by Flossie Potter, is representative of the period when girls' fashion was a mere pint-sized imitation of their mothers. After the first decade of the 20th century we begin to see a shift from large, ostentatious hats to smaller ones that still maintained many of the design elements from the previous craze.
The Flossie Potter Edwardian Girl's Hat displays a narrow brim that is ruched on the outside and on the lining. A small bouquet of feathers is supported by a braid trim knot in front, and the unique crown swirls into a rosette on top.
