Inspired by clothing depicted in ancient Egyptian Art, Astarte's Raiment by BramBelles Boutique continues the theme with a pleated and fringed tunic, a decorated Wesekh collar and two styles of belt; a simple handwoven belt or a fabric tie belt.
The tunic is styled in crisp fabrics which show the pleat details. It slips over the head, wraps front and back and is held in place with either the woven or fabric tie belt. The Wesekh Decorative Collar completes the ensemble.
This costume would be perfect for a Fancy Dress Ball or party or for a Hallowe'en costume.

Recommended Fabrics:
Linen, handkerchief linen, cambric, voile, muslin, lawn, and similar fabrics that will hold pleats well. The colour was generally natural, cream or white, however some more recent tomb paintings also show patterned fabrics such as stripes and chevron patterns.
Supplies Needed:
Tunic:
- 24” x 15” pre-shrunk fabric
Wesekh (Decorative Collar):
- Felt piece 3½” x 3½”
- 3 - 4 assorted braids, lace, sequins, etc. 7½” – 9½” each
- 2 pieces thin cord or ribbon 5½” each
- Thread or fabric glue
- Beads or other embellishments
Fabric Tie Belt:
- strip of fabric 25½” x 1¼”
Woven Belt:
- 8 strands of worsted yarn (2 colours, 4 of each) 38” – 40” long
