This design set, by Genniewren Designs, is only suitable for embroidery machines with 5x7 or larger hoops. It makes a lined or reversible doll apron to fit dolls 14"-18" in size.
There are two versions of the basic apron design, one attaches the pocket with a satin stitch, the other attaches the pocket with a deco stitch, which is faster to sew. The design set includes thee different pocket designs plus a blank pocket which could be used with any small designs you already have. The three designs on the pockets are included as separate designs too, so that you can use them on kitchen coordinates or other projects.
The apron is completely constructed in the hoop and is fully lined (or reversible depending on your fabric choices). A small gap is left in the lining stitches to allow you to turn the apron right sides out. The gap can be closed with hand stitching, top stitching on your regular machine, or you could use fabric glue or a a fusible webbing product for a quick finish option.
If using the blank pocket, then the apron can be made in a single hooping. For embroidered pockets the complete design requires two hoopings: the first hooping to create the pocket and the second to make the apron.

- Vilene brand or similar "fabric type" water soluble stabilizer (WSS) to fit the 4x4 hoop (pocket) and 5x7 hoop (apron).
- 1 piece of cotton fabric 4" x 4" for the pocket
- 1 piece of cotton fabric at least 6" x 8" for the apron
- 1 piece of cotton fabric at least 6" x 8" for the apron lining or reverse side
- 1.5 yards of 0.5" wide ribbon for the ties
- Scotch® tape or carpenter's masking tape
- spray starch
