This pattern will help you create jeans for your 18" Kaye Wiggs dolls. The jeans can be as detailed as you want them, with realistic front and back pockets (even a key pocket). There are instructions for making a belt and belt loops, or you can leave those off for a smoother look under shirts & sweaters. You may choose between a more realistic front close which have a slightly roomier leg; or a slim-fitting back closure. You can leave your jeans as dark or solid denim, but I also give instructions for sandwashing to create a well-worn look.
I'm a child of the 80s, so I well remember a popular ad campaign where someone declared that nothing came between her and her Calvins. Beginning in 2004, I happened to stumble upon jeans as a best seller in my little doll clothing business, and found it a funny irony that my last name is Colvin, thus the "Colvin Jeans" brand was born.
Recommended Fabrics: light to medium-weight denim
Supplies Needed:
• Light weight denim, at least 20 inches wide & 12 inches long.
• Thread in a coordinating or contrasting color
• Schmetz 1.6/80 or 2.0/80 double needle (optional)
• 1 set 4/0 snaps
• 3/8 inch buckle, vinyl, and hot glue for optional belt
• Hot fix nailheads for faux rivets, in a 2-3 mm size.
