This PDF pattern is to sew and create an Arabian Princess inspired outfit.
The crop top has a basque waistline. There is an option to add a contrasting color in the center of the top or just leave it plain.
The top also has a sweetheart or rounded neckline. IT has a hook-and-loop closure in the back.
To add to the flair of the top you can either sew it with regular straps or add the shoulder drapes.
The genie style baggy pants also have a yoke that has a basque shape. The pants has elastic inserted in the back. This is for easy dressing and doll play as well as fits various waistline sizes.
Add panniers to the pants for an added Princess look.
This PDF sewing pattern is designed to fit 18" dolls such as American Girl®.
Recommended Fabrics: • Medium weight WOVEN fabric. • Bright and fabric with shine really makes this outfit sparkle! • Brocade, taffeta, chiffon, organza, satin and bridal satin, ‘Lame’ (metallic look), lace, lining, cotton • Shoulder drapes and pants panniers — Soft, draping fabric such as chiffon or dance mesh • PLEASE NOTE – Some Satin fabric has a tendency to shred and be difficult to work with. If you are a beginner seamstress then I suggest you avoid satin for your first work of the pattern.
Supplies Needed:
- Main Fabric — 11” x 35”
- Shoulder Drapes and Pannier Fabric — 8” x 33” (for chiffon 15” x 33”)
- Optional: Contrasting Fabric — Overlay — 4” x 4.5”
- Optional: Contrasting Fabric — Pants — 3.5” x 14”
- Ribbon or Rick rack — 1/4” wide — 7” (Top) and 34” (Panniers)
- Elastic — 1/4” wide — 5”
- Hook-and-loop Tape — 2” (5/8” width – cut in half to get about 1/4” wide)
