The Flower Child Maxi Dress, by Flossie Potter, represents the casually comfortable lifestyle that was so much a part of the early 1970s. A dress of this type was worn in any season by young girls to thirty-somethings.
The dress is floor length with a full skirt that tapers from many long darts. It has a square neckline and bell sleeves. It can be made in one color or up to four colors and prints, so typical of the period. You can even substitute open lace trim for one of the color blocks for a peasant style.
This PDF sewing pattern shows you how to create your own Maxi Dress with detailed instructions and full-color assembly photos. It includes printable summary instructions (to save on printer ink!) and full-size pattern pieces.
