A Noble Steed 18" Doll Pet Pattern

Mount your steed and enter the arena for the joust! Dress your horse in a bright caparison to show off the kingdom’s power and prestige. Three different decorative trim options will coordinate with your knight’s coat of arms. The horse blanket falls gracefully over the horse’s back, gathered for a perfect fit, with a gap purposefully designed for the saddle cinch. The blanket closes in front with hook and loop tape and ties in back with grommets leaving space for the horse’s tail. Rein covers go on easily with hook and loop tape. Hood has matching trim and closes with hook and loop tape. Bonus lance craft pattern included.

This PDF sewing pattern, from Stitchery by Snowflake, is designed to fit 18" doll horses such as those designed to be used with American Girl®.

Recommended Fabrics: Any woven fabric, such as cotton. Not suitable for knits.

Supplies Needed:

• 5/8 yard of woven fabric, such as Cotton
• 5/8 yard of lining fabric
• Optional: 1/4 inch double fold bias trim (Directions included to make your own!)
• Up to 1/3 yard of fabric for optional trim (i.e. stripes)
• Matching thread
• 1/2 inch wide hook and loop tape
• Two grommets, and tools to set the grommets
• Ribbon or cord
• For bonus lance: 3/8 inch dowel 18 inches long, cardstock in coordinating colors, glue stick, craft paint
