Made in a wrap-around style that ties at the waist, this little beauty can be worn with the opening in the front or the back. The ties may be made of fabric or ribbons. The hem options are short and simple, or longer, with a deep ruffle to mirror the gathers at the neck and sleeves. Recommended Fabrics: Lightweight woven fabrics such as batiste, lawn, gauze, eyelet, seersucker, chambray, lightweight denim, or quilting cotton in small-scale gingham, calico, polka dots, chevrons, florals, geometric prints, stripes and solids
Supplies Needed:
Views A, B, and C will require ⅔ yd. or 2 fat quarters
Views D and E can be made from one ¼ yd. or 1 fat quarter
• 30” length of ⅛” wide flat knit elastic (+ additional 12” for waist, optional)
• Thread to match fabrics and lace
• I/2” round button
• Optional: 40” length of ⅛-¼” wide ribbon
• Optional: 1 yd. single fold bias tape for neckline (or make your own)
• Optional: ½” flat or slightly gathered lace in measuring up to 2 ½ yds. In length
• Crewel embroidery needle* (optional)
• Turning tools or tiny safety pin or bobby pin
• Rotary cutter and cutting mat for cutting straight tie ends, ruffles, and bias binding
• Pinking shears for optional seam
