Lucky Labrador Puppy 18" Doll Pet Pattern

16 reviews   |

Lucky is a cute little Labrador puppy, by Genniewren Designs, that’s the perfectly-sized pet for your 18 inch dolls.

Made from short pile soft cuddle plush (Minky® in the US, Shannon Cuddle 3 in the UK) this adorable little pup is so sweet you just want to hug him (or her!).

The bonus dog bed can be made from fleece or any soft stretchy fabric, e.g. fleece or stretch velvet. It has plenty of room for two puppies to share.

The Lucky Labrador Puppy pattern has been designed with novice toymakers in mind. The body has only four main pattern pieces, and the head has three main pieces.

The required techniques to finish the puppy are all explained with detailed step by step photographs inside the PDF sewing pattern.

NOTE: The finished puppy is approximately 4" (10 cm) tall and he measures approximately 7½" (19.5 cm)from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail.

Recommended Fabrics:  Puppy- 3mm pile cuddle plush fabric (e.g. Minky®); Dog Bed - fleece, stretch velvet, cuddle plus fabric, fur fabric.

Cute little puppy.

After sewing the first one, I was good to go. I found the pattern easy to follow. Working on something so small was a bit challenging. I also found that ***** fur is much to slick to control under the sewing machine foot, way to slippery. I would suggest a fabric/fur that is easier to work with. Overall, great little pattern.

Lucky Labrador Puppy 18” Doll Pet Pattern

My puppy turned out beautifully, I made it in fleece. I thought it was going to be a bit tricky but after reading the pattern through a couple of times, everything became clear. The directions were well written. Also made the dog bed, very cute.

Loved this pattern. The puppy was a little tricky, but I ended up making 5. The dog bed was equally cute and easy.

Darling dogs

My first attempt at stuffed animals was made easy with a well designed pattern. I made two dogs in different fabrics which created different looks. I used glass eyes and a piece of vinyl for the noses instead of felt. They are adorable and the dog bed is cute too.

Labrador Puppy

This is a cute pattern! I used brown fleece. I used 6 strands of DMC floss for nose, but it was tough getting the needle through. Perhaps I should try the nose pattern. Also, I think it would be easier to apply nose before stuffing. I'm thinking that I'll try to have the opening underneath, so no hand stitches would be visible. I have 3 more ready to stuff! So fun!
