Eden Ava 1930s Rick Rack outfit

Hurray for patterns which let us create outfits for our historical dolls that American Girl never made! The inspiration was from "Kit's Surprise". How did American Girl NOT make this dress? But you can. But if you're looking for a modern jumper or blouse, this is it, too. I made the blouse in white poly cotton so it could be used as a basic staple pie for my doll's wardrobe. And who doesn't love polka dots. Ooh, I nearly forgot - the jumper has a lining technique I've never done before. It looks really great, inside and out.

1930’s Rick Rack Outfit

I enjoyed testing this jumper and blouse combo. Directions were clear and easy to follow, and the fit is excellent. The long sleeved blouse has a unique but simple tie feature that really sets it apart, and the jumper has deep armscyes like a jumper should. While the outfit is intended as a 30’s era outfit, both pieces also lend themselves to multiple uses in a more modern setting. (The cloche style hat is from a separate pattern, but is a perfect accessory!)
