The perfect gown for a stroll down the lane, by Dollhouse Designs. Includes 2 Ball Gown Dress styles in tea or ankle length, 2 styles of sash, and a shawl. Dresses View A has a 3- or 4-tiered skirt while View B has a straight gathered skirt. Choose Basque V waist or straight.
Promenade was designed in the charming spirit of the early Victorian years. From the dropped shoulders and princess seams to the basque waist and tea length or longer hem, these dresses were created to echo fashions of more than 150 years ago. With long full skirts and specially detailed sleeves, this design is something special for your dolls. They make excellent formal dresses for modern girls as well.
To “promenade” was to stroll at a leisurely pace in a social setting, usually at a park or picturesque walkway. Wearing one’s best, families & couples greeted passersby while taking the fresh air, mixing formality with relaxation. The promenade at a formal ball was a march of sorts, with the guests streaming into the ballroom to begin the festivities and to see and be seen. Every year, high schools continue this notable celebration, holding formal dances known as “proms”.
