The big day has finally arrived and Malibu Libby is ready to make her red carpet appearance! She is confident she will look spectacular in her designer dress adorned with beaded trim at the shoulders and down the side seams for that extra special touch. The mermaid silhouette shows off her beautiful shape and makes just enough of a statement. She’s sure to make the best-dressed list with this gown!
We made this fully lined dress using a lovely silk shantung that holds the flounce nicely. Other suggested fabrics include: Silk dupioni, poly blend Shantung types, taffeta, and satin. A slick lining, like rayon, is also suggested. We used a 1/4” beaded lace trim for the straps and a 1” wide beaded lace trim to embellish the sides. If your trims are not beaded and you would like to add that extra sparkle, try beading the trim yourself. Have fun making your one-of-a-kind designer gown!
This Liberty Jane® doll clothes pattern is designed to fit a modern era 18 inch doll such as American Girl® Since cloth body dolls can vary in their “stuffing” we have included two slightly different sizes and couture fitting techniques to provide the perfect fit for your doll!

-5/8 yard fabric 1/3 yard lining
-1/8 yard tulle netting
-4" - 1/2 yard narrow trim for straps (depending on strap style)
-1/4 yard lace trim for side embellishment
-1 -5" invisible zipper 1-hook and eye
-Matching thread
