When it’s hot outside, our dolls can chill in this sweet little crop top and skort set. The Sweet July outfit is designed for all those sultry summer days by the pool, on the pickleball court, at the beach, or somewhere in between.
The lined scoop neck top features a single center back snap or hook and loop closure with optional sleeve ruffle and front accent tie. The skort is a pull-on design with an elasticized waist. The set is designed for wovens, but can be made from interlock knits, and both pieces can even serve double duty in the sun or in the pool.
This PDF sewing pattern by Frog Princess Fashions is designed to fit 18 Inch dolls such as American Girl®.
This pattern is modeled on modern, Mattel brand American Girl® dolls with slimmer bodies, but has enough ease to fit many of the older style Pleasant Company dolls. Be sure to compare the pattern pieces to your doll’s measurements prior to cutting your fabric. The version in light pink is pictured on a doll with waist measurement of 10 ⅜.”
Recommended Fabrics: Best suited for fabrics such as lightweight wovens, cotton, poly-cotton, rayon, gauze, light chambray, or two-way stretch sport knits (such as for swim suits or costumes). Not recommended for stiff, heavy weight fabrics or one-way directional prints. Only lightweight wovens suggested for View A sleeve ruffle.

- ¼ yd fabric (may use two fat quarters)
View C:
- ¼ yd sport knit fabric or 2-way interlock knit
- ⅛ yd contrasting sport knit fabric

Notions:
- 10 ½” of soft (knit or pajama-style) flat ⅛”- ¼” wide elastic
- ¾” square of non-snag hook and loop tape OR (see below)
- 1 heavy-duty snap (optional)
- High quality matching polyester or rayon thread, depending on fabric choice
- New, sharp size 11/12 needle for wovens, ball point or universal needle for knits
- Fusible knit hem tape
