Very Cute but definitely for an Intermediate Sewer.

I have been wanting to make this shirt for a while. I decided not to make the back pieced, and that was not a problem to pin the two pattern pieces and cut as one. The front I decided to keep the way the designer intended. As I was making for a slightly larger doll, I added a little to the side seams, but I found this to be unnecessary. The pattern went together quite nicely, and even though the front seams were not marked 3/8, the amount allowed on the pattern clearly showed this. My difficulty came with attaching the collar, I was unsure whether to attach the whole collar matching raw edges, or to simply attach one side of the collar to the shirt, turning under seam allowance on the other part of the collar to act as a facing, and stitch to enclose the raw edges. (I did the second, as it gave me fully enclosed seams) I tried looking at the photo however my computer does not show this clearly, and only after putting it to 200% was I able to see the photo in sufficient detail. (and only thought of that later) Instead of turning the armholes in and stitching, I bound the armholes with bias binding in a contrasting colour before stitching up the side seam. Even though I encountered a bit of difficulty, I still love the results and will make more in the future as this is a versatile little shirt that you could use to highlight a variety of prints .

An other very vesatile pattern

All the free patterns I used for my grandkids dolls these were so versatile it gets my imagination juice at work. Thank you so much. I have a very limited budget, I can use them at will and make some pieces for charity sales to help the After School Programs and they go at a very high demand. I buy fabric from Goodwill stores clothes and even in the cheap bin ( pieces that have a default ) but enough for few shirts or skirt. I undo good knits to knit pieces for the dolls . Marie
