Your 18-inch doll will look adorable in this gorgeous Vintage style dress and charming crochet Breton Hat from Little Miss Muffett.
Although not historically correct, the dress design is based on various examples of Children’s Clothing from the mid to late 1800’s.
The Dress has a lined Bodice which features a Ruffle edged Bib with 8 centralized corded Pintucks, 3 pretty centralized buttons and a bow at Center Front to finish. Medium length Puff Sleeves have elastic gathers at the elbow, lace trim and side bows to finish. Sash ties are attached at the Bodice sides and tie at Center Back. The full, gathered Skirt has a pretty coordinating Ruffle and is finished with lace trim. The dress closes at Center Back with Hook & Loop tape.
The slim cut, Ankle length Pantaloons have an Elastic Waist, lace trim on the hems and pretty side bows to finish.
The dress is slightly shorter than the pantaloons which allow them to peek out from underneath the dress hem.
The Breton Hat uses fingering weight Cotton Yarn and is done in the Amigurumi-style of crochet which uses basic stitches. This very easy pattern is made all-in-one and is great project for the beginner crocheter.
These patterns are designed to fit 18-inch soft-bodied dolls such as American Girl®.
The Willow dress and Breton Beauty hat patterns are available to purchase separately, if preferred.
