The cloche hat is probably one of the most iconic accessories of the Roaring Twenties. Although it was originally invented by French fashion designer and milliner Caroline Reboux in 1908, it didn't catch on until the 1920s when women started wearing their hair short.
Cloches come in many different styles, the defining feature being that they follow the contour of the wearer's head. This fully lined cloche is shaped with six panels that comprise both the crown and the scoop brim. The brim can be worn down or flipped up for a more jaunty appearance. The crown is topped with a single shank button to add a modest amount of interest. This simplicity of this cloche makes it an ideal accessory for just about any outfit, but also lends itself well for embellishing in a variety of ways to give it a more novel appearance.
For a complete 1920s look, pair this cloche with the Mary Brooks Dress, available separately.
