This PDF sewing pattern includes instructions for making three different gowns. The coordinating hat pattern is available separately. Videos with special instructions on how to complete perfect pleats and tucks are also included.
Inspired by gowns worn during the Edwardian period, these dresses are a perfect choice for an afternoon stroll on the decks of the Titanic, or wandering the gardens of Downton Abbey.
View A: The slim silhouette of the under-dress is set off by the peplum attached “jacket”. It is all one piece, but has the look of an overcoat, with contrasting cuffs, collar, and waistband.
View B: This elegant version looks best with a brocade or textured fabric for the “jacket”. The peplum and bodice are accented with decorative trim. The inset skirt and bodice panel showcase a wide pin-tuck, and the skirt is edged with a pleated ruffle.
View C: The peplum in this version is edged with piping and a ruffle. It has a contrast bow and waistband made from the same fabric as the piping. The sleeve is also edged with piping and a ruffle.
