The Marlene Dress 18" Doll Clothes Pattern

4 reviews   |

The Marlene Dress© is the fifth pattern in a series of seven in the Tribute Collection. The dress design features a boat neck bodice with a natural waistline: the dress may be made with or without the sleeves as well as the heart shaped collar and is closed with a button-up back. Snaps or hook and loop tape with mock buttons may be used as an alternative to buttonholes for easy dressing and undressing. The dress features a straight hemline that you may choose to embellish with embroidery as a feature design element. The dress is available in three different skirt lengths: short, knee and tea. The dress is designed to fit 18” dolls such as American Girl Doll®. Also included in the pattern is a free Diamond & Bow hand shadow work embroidery template. The dress requires some hand finishing to achieve a couture finish.

Genine Allan of Genniewren Designs has recreated the Diamond & Bow and Bow only shadow work for machine embroidery. She is offering the embroidery file as a free download with the PDF pattern file. The machine embroidery is spectacular and looks just as good as hand embroidered shadow work, and it's a lot quicker too. This is a splendid way to add an heirloom embellishment to your doll or child’s garments. While you’re adding the shadow work file to your cart check out her other fantastic embroidery designs.

Complete the outfit with the Marlene Slippers, also from Sharp Dressed Dolls.
