Here's My Heart Dress 18" Doll Clothes Pattern

  |

If you have ever wanted to try heirloom sewing techniques but didn’t because you were afraid you couldn’t finish, this is the sewing pattern for you! This demure little dress, by FROG Princess Fashions features delicate heirloom techniques that you can accomplish with minimal effort using the tutorials included with this design. And, it has multiple finishing options so you can try one or all of the techniques, according to your comfort level!

The scalloped collar is embellished with a lovely hemstitched heart appliqué design that can be stitched with or without an embroidery machine. Or, you can leave off the collar design and/or collar entirely and focus on embellishing the skirt! The skirt hem features curves hemstitched on the hem band with a wing needle using the step-by-step illustrated wing needle tutorial to ensure your success. Add mini embroidered or appliqued hearts around the scallops for a charming effect. Or leave off the curves and stitch a straight hem band. The waist features slightly gathered tie ends that are caught into the open front darts and tied in a big bow at the back. Or, leave off the ties and simply add a pretty ribbon for tie ends. The elbow-length sleeves are puffed and gathered. Finish with elastic or gather into a cuff. Pair the main dress fabric with a sweet solid or coordinating print for the collar, cuffs, tie ends, and hem band, and you are on your way to stitching up a lovely heirloom dress for a special 18” doll.
This pattern is dedicated to my sweet sister and cancer survivors everywhere who have my heart.
