If you love lace, why not knit this lovely little dress for your doll?
This dress is knit from the bottom up. The hem of the dress is made following a 4 row pattern repeat. You can knit the entire dress using only one color or change colors as indicated in the pattern. The lace pattern is not difficult but needs concentration. Small check boxes are included in the pattern instructions for each pattern repeat as there are 8 repeats in a row. The dress is knit flat with cast on stitches to create the sleeves. It has a back closure with 4 buttons. A short roll over collar with 2 buttons accents the front neckline.
The hat is worked flat with a back seam closure. The brim has a 2 row slipped stitches using a contrast color for that special look. You can either knit a thin band, use I - cord or just draw a ribbon through the eyelet rows.
Stitches used: knit, purl, YO, skp and knit 2 together.

Recommended Yarn: Any Light DK (Double knit ) / Weight 3 yarn or even a Sports weight that will give you the appropriate gauge. Main pattern example used: Bonus DK® Extra Value Neon Blue as Main Color, Paintbox Simply DK Paper white as Contrast Color. Pattern tester used Baby Bee® Sweet Delight.
Supplies Needed:
- MC about 50 grams (40.0 meters /153.1 yards)
- CC about 28 grams (77.3 meters /84.5 yards)
Other supplies:
- Straight or circular knitting needles sizes US 4 + 5 (3.50 mm + 3.75 mm).
- DPNS size US 4 (3.50 mm) x 2 to help with the extra stitches when joining the sleeves.
- Buttons x 4 + 2
- Row counter or a pencil to tick off the rows as you knit.
- Tapestry + ordinary sewing needle.
- Small scissors.
- Ruler or tape measure.
GAUGE: Stockinette Stitch - US 4 (3.50 mm) needles 13 sts & 18 rows = 2’’ (5 cm)
