The sweater’s yoke features a repeating cabin motif that transitions to a row of ‘snowballs’ and finishes with a bodice worked in zig-zag cabled trails that slalom all the way to a rolled stockinette border. Rolled trims at the neckline and on the stockinette sleeves complete the look. A fully opening rear button closure ensures easy dressing.
This knit is worked from the top down. After the yoke is made the stitches are divided and those that form the sleeve are held on spare yarn while the body is completed. The sleeves are then knit separately in the round. The button bands are integrated into the sweater’s construction to create a completely seamless top.
The pattern requires double knitting weight yarn and will knit up beautifully in wool, wool blends or synthetics. Whether it’s on the slopes or at the chalet, your dolls will turn heads in their own Cabin Trails knitted sweater!

- 3 mm (US size 3) knitting needles, straight or circular, or size needed to obtain gauge
- 3 mm (US size 3) set of 4 double pointed (or circular knitting needles if using magic loop method of knitting in the round), or size needed to obtain gauge
- 3 mm (US size 3) cable needle

- 4 buttons (11 to 13 mm or 3/8 to 1/2 inch diameter)
