This zone-front gown by Thimbles and Acorns is a Robe a l'Anglaise (a gown with a bodice that closes in the front without the use of a stomacher) with diagonal pieces sweeping from the top center front to just before the side seams at the waist, pening up into the skirt. This creates a separate piece across the stomach (a separate "zone”). The gown pictured on the front cover is made in one color and set off with a sheer organza trim, but the color of the center “zone” can be changed to give it a completely new look. The gown bodice closes down the front with hooks and eyes, edge-to-edge, with trim along the center front. The back of the gown is made in the En 'Fourreau style, a method where the back of the skirt and the back of the bodice are one piece, and the bodice portion is pleated and sewn down to create the shaping. The sleeves are full length with a double organza ruffle along the bottom edge and placket. The trimmings consist of gathered bands of organza. The standout feature of this gown is the wide red belt with rhinestone buckle. This is a multi-size PDF pattern bundle for 18-inch (46 cm) and 16-inch (40 cm) dolls such as
American Girl®, A Girl for All Time®, and Other Similarly Sized Dolls.
