The most striking details are the mandarin collar and the wide button placket down the front of the garment. Don’t worry about buttonholes – the buttons hide a row of sewn-on snaps. The bodice has a subtle drop waist and a back yoke. You can create an above-the-knee dress or a shirt with a peplum; you can even combine the two lightly gathered skirt lengths for a lovely two-tiered dress. Choose between short or long slightly puffed sleeves with cuffs. The mandarin collar, sleeve cuffs, and front placket can be sewn from the same fabric as the main garment or with a contrasting fabric to create many different looks.
