Elsie is a floor length dress that has a subtle sweetheart neckline. The full skirt is made of an underskirt and an overskirt. The underskirt is a circle skirt, while the overskirt is made from circles of fabric sewn together and pleated to create lots of flowing 'waves'. The waistline can be decorated with a fabric trim or a bought trim. Instructions are included for both an invisible zipper or snaps for the back closure.
Instructions are included for an optional petticoat to help give your skirt some extra fullness. Perfect for a princess style ball gown!

Recommended Fabrics: For the dress, satin is a good choice for the main fabric while chiffon, mesh, or another lightweight fabric with good drape will work well for the overskirt. The petticoat is best made out of a lightweight cotton fabric.

● ½ yard main fabric
● 1 yard of 54” wide overlay fabric
● ¼ yard lining fabric
● 7-9 inch invisible zipper
● 12 inches of 1/8 - ¼ inch wide trim (optional)
● 2 snaps (optional)
Petticoat:
● 1/3 yard fabric
● 10 inches of ¼ inch ribbon or twill tape
