Truly Me #66 Doll: According to the American Girl® website, The 18-inch Truly Me™ doll has a huggable cloth body, eyes that open and close, hair that can be styled, and a movable head and limbs made of smooth vinyl. This doll has medium skin tone, black-brown hair, and brown eyes. She arrives wearing a printed dress with a mesh hem, a zip-front moto jacket with a star zipper pull, and glittery flat shoes.
More About The Outfit: Your 18-inch doll will be ready to ready to reenact scenes from Little Hous on the Prairie in this adorable red gingham dress made from the Mary and Laura Dress Pattern! The dress includes some fantastic design details: A long sleeve ankle length dress, layered over an underskirt and a white petticoat. Each skirt layer has ruffles that when worn together create a cascading look! Tiny white lace peeks out of the neck and cuff hemline. Waistline darts add a bit of shape to the overall silhouette. The dress closes in the back with snaps and all seams have been finished for a professional look. A dainty velvet ribbon choker accented with a tiny custom cameo completes the look!

Both dolls are adorable!
I choose 66 because of the braids and the time period of the clothes.

I love #66. Thank you for sharing this period outfit. We have horses and participated in a week long wagon train where we had to dress in period clothes, cook over campfires, share family chores, etc. It is great to enjoy dressing up. #66 would fit right in!

I think the #66 doll has a better neck line to show off the collar and is able to show off the way the skirt flares out around the feet. It just seems a much better fit over-all. Especially in the bodice area. Plus the doll lends itself more to that time period as far as facial structure and expression, and not very many women worried too much about beauty marks back then.

Shari….I changed my mind. I would choose Z Yang. Silly me…I will just braid her hair when she wears this dress!
Besides, I can hardly wait to make some beautiful period oriental clothing too!
