Get To Know Marilyn (In Her Own Words)

"I am happily married to my wonderful husband Richard and we are blessed with three beautiful daughters. My professional background is in children’s ministries, but I have enjoyed sewing for over 20 years.

Throughout the years I have sewn for local dance schools and theatres groups. With three daughters I have sewn my fair share little girls clothes.

In spring 2013 my love for sewing doll clothes began and in March 2014, I started designing patterns for 18” dolls such as American Girl® and Maplelea®. I enjoy designing and creating modern everyday clothing and shoes. I love keeping up with current fashion and recreating it."

My favorite pattern is the Easy as Pi Jacket. I dress it down to be worn with denim, use fancy fabric to dress it up to be worn with fancy dresses/skirts and “leather” pants. I do the same with the Lace Dolman Top. I love Marilyn’s patterns because they are easy to sew and on trend.

It’s hard to choose a favorite pattern of hers – they’re all great! I guess my favorite would be the Oh My Gosh Skirtalls — so cute! I also love the shoe patterns. I love the diversity of her patterns and that she makes them for so many different sizes.
