She takes her time deciding what to wear today. There will be the trip to the library, a stop at the soda fountain at the local five and dime, and the Matinee at the Palace Theater. She wanted something comfortable, yet fashionable. Then she thinks about the beautiful new dress. Yes, that’s the one! Now, what about shoes…..
Your doll will love the fashion and comfort of this dress! It has a lined wrap style bodice with a notched split neckline and short sleeves. There are three decorative folds on each side of the bodice front. The skirt can be knee length or mid-calf – or make two so she can have both! Back closure is hook and loop. Sew it in one color or use a different color for the bodice, waistband, and skirt.
This PDF sewing pattern is designed to fit 18 inch dolls like American Girl ®. The doll modeling this dress has an 11 1/4” bust, 11 1/4” waist, and 11 3/4” hips. It may be adjusted to fit other doll sizes with minor changes to closure.
Recommended Fabrics: This dress will look beautiful in a lightweight 100% cotton, calico, muslin, lawn, or silk. Not suitable for knits or thickly woven fabrics (such as denim).
